Pendulum/Pendex Family of Appliances
The pendulum appliance has traditionally been used to correct Class II malocclusions by distalization of upper molars. Dr. Hilgers popularized the design with the use of TMA wire and Dr. Mayes modified the design to allow external activation. Palatal expansion was incorporated – thus the Pendex and T-Rex. Variations are available, including a similar series of appliances developed by Dr. Grummons (GrumRax, G-Rax I, G-Rax II). |
